Truck Driver Training
The 352-hours Entry-Level Driver Training (CDL) course provides students with training to inspect and operate tractor-trailers, and to assume driving responsibilities on the road. Highway driving, training range exercises, and classroom lectures are used to develop the student’s knowledge and skills. The course also covers the required FMCSA theory training to obtain the CDL Hazmat Endorsement.
Upon completion of this course the student is prepared to pass the NC DMV CDL Class A skills exam, and also the DMV computer Hazmat knowledge test, to earn their Hazmat endorsement. Students will then be prepared to apply for employment with a respected motor carrier as an entry level driver.

Once training is completed, students will be taken to the DMV for the CDL Skills Test. The skills test cost is $107.50.
Registration Requirements
Please have all requirements completed and turned in prior to the start of class.
- Must be fluent in English
- Must be at least 18 years of age to take the class
- Must have a valid NC Driver’s License prior to start of class in order to obtain a Class A Permit
- Must have a current DOT Physical
- Must provide a DOT Drug Screen dated no more than two months prior to the start of class
- Must provide DMV Driving Record from NC and all states where a license was issued for at least the past three years

Complete the Workforce Development and Continuing Education Scholarship form to determine your eligibility for scholarship funds that support your training. A form must be submitted for each class you plan to enroll in. In order to best serve you, we will need this information at least 30 days prior to the start of your selected course.
