How You’ll Be Notified

Lenoir Community College’s goal is to send timely notice during an emergency situation.  The communication approach is based on redundancy, using multiple methods to reach students, faculty, staff, parents, visitors and the news media. While other means may be used, the primary methods of notifying people include the following:

The sirens will only sound if the College issues an Emergency Warning because of a significant emergency or dangerous situation involving an immediate threat to health or safety. The sirens also broadcast short pre-recorded voice messages. If the sirens sound, be prepared to seek shelter inside, close windows and doors, and stay until further notice. Sirens are located on main campus, Greene County Center, Workforce Development Center, and Jones County Center.

An alert message may be sent to the mobile devices of Lenoir Community College members registered for LancerALERT. Please verify/confirm your cell phone number(s) is set up to receive alert text messages.
