Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA)
The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Title I Program is designed to develop a skilled workforce that meets the needs of business and industry, enabling them to compete in a global economy by helping jobseekers access training, education, and employment. This is a federal grant program serving WIOA Title I Adult and Youth populations at Lenoir Community College.

Finish Line Grants
Emergency Assistance Application
Finish Line Grants are grants up to $1,000 awarded to community college students who are on the cusp of completing their education or training and are faced with an unanticipated financial hardship that may prevent them from doing so.
Grants can be used for course materials, housing, medical needs, dependent care, or utilities, other financial hardships that students face through no fault of their own.
In order to qualify for a Finish Line Grant, you must:
- have an unforeseen financial emergency.
- be enrolled in a curriculum program or an eligible workforce continuing education course leading to an industry -recognized credential.
- be in good academic standing with a 2.0 or greater GPA.
