Advanced Emergency Medical Technician – Initial (Short-Term Training) PSC EMT Public Safety Intermediate Paramedic
The Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) program is designed to prepare students for expanded roles in prehospital emergency care. This short-term training provides a comprehensive blend of classroom instruction, hands-on skills training, and clinical/field experiences aligned with state and national standards.
Students will develop the knowledge, skills, and professional behaviors necessary to deliver advanced life support interventions in a variety of emergency settings. Emphasis is placed on patient assessment, airway management, pharmacology, and clinical decision-making.
Program Goal
To prepare competent Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians who are competent in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains to enter the profession.
