Yes, tutoring is available. Students must formally request additional help from their instructor.
How do your paramedic graduates perform on the NCOEMS and National Registry exams?
Our paramedic graduates have a 71% pass rate on their first attempt at the National Registry cognitive exam (the national average is 73%). Our graduates have an 82% pass rate within 6 attempts (the national average is 86%), with only 1% of graduates failing all 6 attempts on the test.
Can I complete my clinical/EMS rotations in my home state?
It depends. Our program has been cleared to allow student clinical/EMS rotations in certain states. Refer to the clinical map in this packet to determine if your state is approved.
Do I have to come to main campus? If so, how often?
Yes, you have to come to main campus as part of your program. Refer to each individual programs on-site requirements for the specific number of on-site visits. These visits are spaced throughout the program.
How is the program set up? What does hybrid mean?
The course is offered in a hybrid format. Hybrid means that some material is offered online and other material is delivered face-to-face. Your readings, homework, quizzes, and section exams will be offered online through Moodle. The online week runs from Monday to Sunday so all online assignments for the week are due by that Sunday evening
Can I take the National Registry exam after completing this paramedic program?
Yes. We are fully accredited by CAAHEP which means that students that complete our programs are eligible for the National Registry exam. You are also eligible to take the North Carolina Paramedic certification exam if you choose to do so.
