Four students from Lenoir County Early College High School teamed up this past weekend to claim the state championship in the North Carolina Council on Economic Education Personal Finance Challenge and earn a spot in the national competition.
Greene Early College’s prestigious Student Ambassadors are truly advocates for GEC. They are charged with telling the story of the school and its programs to the public, educators and prospective students.
Greene Early College proudly announces students who have been named to the Principal’s List(all A’s) and Honor Roll(all a’s and/or B’s) for the third nine weeks. Congratulations to all students for their commitment to academic excellence.

Established in 1918 by two-year college presidents and recognized in 1929 by the American Association of Community Colleges, Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society is the official academic honor society for two-year colleges.
The staff of Greene Early College has proudly selected Brittany Hood as their teacher of the year. A graduate of East Carolina University as an NC Teaching Fellow 2013, she has taught World and American History for eight years at GEC. Currently, she is excitedly preparing through intense professional development for the Economics and Personal Finance
Thirteen students from Lenoir County Early College High School took on the role of state leaders this past weekend when they joined approximately 200 other North Carolina students in the NC Youth Legislative Assembly (YLA) in Raleigh.

On Saturday evening Lenoir County Early College High School Sophomore Halle Powell won the title of Miss Neuse 2023. She is the daughter of Bryan and Jennifer Powell and was sponsored by Fox Trail Mini Storage.
After putting herself in a position to graduate from South Lenoir High School and earn an associate degree from Lenoir Community College in three years, the next challenge for Pari Patel is winning a Goodnight Scholarship to NC State University, for which she is a finalist.
K’la Green has had her heart set on going to North Carolina A&T University since she was an eighth grader. Now, her achievements at Lenoir County Early College High School could get her to A&T on a full scholarship.
