The College offers transfer options for select AAS degrees; additional details are available at the top of this page by school under University Partnerships and Articulation Agreements.
Planning Your Transfer Path
- Work with your advisor to build a customized transfer plan based on your intended university and major.
- Follow Your Degree Plan & Maintain Good Standing
- Minimum requirements for transfer under the CAA:
- A 2.0 GPA
- A grade of C or better in transferable courses
- Your intended major helps determine which associate degree is the best fit for your transfer plans. The Associate in Arts (A.A.) is the best choice for majors in the arts, humanities, social sciences, or education. The Associate in Science (A.S.) is better for majors that need a strong background in math and science.
- In some cases, Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) programs can also lead to transfer, when special agreements are in place with certain universities. These agreements show which courses will count toward specific bachelor’s degrees and what requirements you’ll need to meet.
- Not sure which path is right for you? An LCC academic advisor can help you explore your options, choose the best degree for your goals, and create a plan that keeps you on track for a smooth transfer.
- Review major requirements, GPA expectations, and course equivalences with your target institution(s).
- The North Carolina University Transfer Guides help you plan your classes with transfer in mind. You can easily compare major requirements at different universities using the CFNC Transfer Guides, making it simpler to choose the school and pathway that work best for you.
- Most students begin applications during their second year. Advisors can help with planning, documents, and deadlines.
- Many colleges and universities offer scholarship opportunities for transfer students. Spend time researching scholarships, checking eligibility requirements, and completing applications.
- Request official LCC transcripts for transfer admissions and again after your final term ends.
CCP High School and Early College Students

By aligning their CCP or Early College coursework with an approved associate degree, students can take advantage of co-admission opportunities, seamlessly transition into partner universities, and move efficiently toward completing their bachelor’s degrees.
