The State Health Plan is administered by Blue Cross, Blue Shield of North Carolina. Employees may choose between two plan options – the Traditional 70/30 Plan, or the Enhanced 80/20 Plan. The cost of individual coverage varies depending upon which plan is chosen and the completion of wellness activity. Employees are responsible for the cost of dependent premiums. The State Health Plan runs on a calendar year. Please see the following rate chart for a Summary of 2021 Plan Options. To make changes to your State Health Plan outside of open enrollment, employees must have a qualifying event. Examples of qualifying events include birth, marriage, divorce, loss or gain of other coverage, and death.
Pierce Group Benefits
Employees have the option to purchase additional policies through Pierce Group Benefits, an insurance broker who handles a comprehensive package of benefits unique to LCC.
Dental, Vision, Flexible Spending Accounts, and Term Life as well as other supplemental insurance plans are available. Open enrollment for Pierce Group benefits is held in October through November of each year with a January 1 effective date. New employees have the opportunity to enroll within 30 days of their hire date.
