The estate of William S. “Bill” and Melda B. Lamm has left more than $1 million to the Lenoir Community College Foundation, one of the largest gifts in LCC’s history.

Four outstanding individuals were recognized for their accomplishments this morning at the annual Christmas breakfast.

Many recent high school graduate students in Kinston can go to community college for free with the Longleaf Commitment Grants. The Longleaf Commitment Grant, which had previously been held only for 2021 high school graduates, has now opened up to 2020 high school graduates.

A ground breaking ceremony was held on the Lenoir Community College (LCC) campus for the Floyd Health Sciences Center. State and local officials joined the Floyd family in presenting information about the new center.

Lenoir Community College and Barton College have entered into an agreement to provide LCC Criminal Justice students an opportunity to transfer to Barton College to complete a four-year degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice Sciences.

The Lenoir County ABC Board recently presented a check of $15,000 to Lenoir Community College to assist in alcohol and drug awareness programs at the College.
