Lenoir Community College students recently participated in the third annual Derby Car Race at the Aerospace & Advanced Manufacturing Center (AAMC). The event teams up Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Systems and Computer-Integrated Machining students to design and manufacture a car that meets certain requirements.

Wednesday’s rivalry game had a bit of everything for those in attendance. In the end, Lenoir Community College defeated Pitt Community College 13-12, using a walkout wild pitch as the difference. “Coming in, we told the guys this was a team that would not go away” LCC coach Gary Smith said.
