Lenoir Community College’s new women’s soccer team will have South Lenoir representation. The Blue Devils’ Laikyn Whaley had her signing ceremony Thursday, committing to the Lancers’ inaugural squad next season. Whaley has helped shore South Lenoir’s defense over the past three seasons, which has included seven shutouts.

The love of baseball brought Zack Kramer of Florida to Lenoir Community College where he plays outfield for the LCC Lancers. He’s played baseball his whole life and he wanted to continue his career at the collegiate level. His older brother played for a junior college (JUCO) in Virginia and had a great experience there,
