The Greater Kinston Credit Union (GKCU), a non-profit chartered credit union under the laws of the State of North Carolina, is partnering with Lenoir Community College to assist students in financing vehicles through the LCC Cars for College program, a program that was created to help eliminate transportation barriers for attending classes and finding employment.
When Kinston High School opens its campus to students for the 2021-2022 school year on Monday, it will open the door to a college within a high school, the product of a new and innovative partnership between Lenoir County Public Schools and Lenoir Community College.
The following students have been named to the President’s List at Lenoir Community College for Summer Semester 2021. They are Hailey Elizabeth Davis of Kinston, Garrison Cooper Guthrie of Newport, Kasey Brooke Frizzelle of Pink Hill, Emily Rose Fisk of Staley, and Bradley Grissom of Youngsville.

Lenoir Community College graduate Marc DeNeal’s educational journey was not a traditional straight path from high school to college. His education started long before he entered LCC in 2013 when he joined the US Navy after graduating from high school.
Lenoir Community College, NCWorks Career Centers of Lenoir & Craven County, and the NCWorks Career Services Center of Jones County will host a Job Fair at the Jones County Civic Center. The event is open to the public. Employers from Jones, Lenoir, and Craven Counties will be onsite with employment opportunities.

Eight local high schools will compete at the second annual Lenoir Community College high school volleyball tournament in memory of Jessica Ramsey. Games will start at 9 a.m. August 14 on the Coach Bobby Dawson Court in the LCC Student Center.
