Important Procedures and Forms

Need to make changes to your schedule or academic record?

  • Deleting a course before the course starts will result in a 100% financial refund.
  • No grade is awarded for courses that are deleted prior to the start date.
  • To delete a course before the start date, students must contact their advisor through Watermark in myLCC.
  • The “add period” is a short, one-day window after a course starts when students may add additional courses to their schedule.
  • The Academic Calendar indicates add periods for each semester.
  • Adding a course after the “add period” through the 10% point of the semester requires additional approval from the course instructor and division dean.
  • After the 10% point of the semester, courses may only be added with the recommendation of the instructor and the division dean and with the approval of the Vice President of Instruction & Student Services.
  • To add a course during the add period, students must contact their advisor through Watermark in myLCC.
  • Dropping a course after the course starts but before the 10% point of the course will result in a 75% financial refund.
  • No grade is awarded for courses that are dropped prior to the 10% point of the course.
  • The “drop period” is a short window (up to the 10% point) at the beginning of each course when students may drop a course from their schedule with no grade awarded.
  • A dropped course does not appear on the student’s permanent record.
  • The Academic Calendar indicates drop periods for each semester and deadlines to receive a tuition refund or avoid academic penalties.
  • To drop a course during the drop period, students must contact their advisor through Watermark in myLCC.
  • Withdrawing from a course after the 10% point of the course will result in no financial refund.
  • A grade of “W” is given for courses that are withdrawn after the 10% point of the course.
  • Students must contact the instructor of the course to withdraw from a course.
  • Prior to withdrawing, however, students should be advised that a withdrawal (W) may impact financial aid and/or academic standing.
  • Grades of “W” do show on a student’s transcript.
  • The Academic Calendar indicates the “Last day to process withdrawals” each semester.
  • Student-requested withdrawals after the “Last Day to Process Withdrawals” must be approved by the Vice President of Instruction & Student Services and are only granted due to extenuating circumstance.
  • Note: Instructors must withdraw a student after the “Last Day to Process Withdrawals” if the student will have missed 30 consecutive days of attendance as of the last date of the course.
  • A student who has not been enrolled in curriculum courses for 36 consecutive months may request the Registrar to evaluate the student’s academic record.
  • Under this policy, the student may request that previous grades of “F” not be used in calculating the cumulative grade point average.
  • Prior to reevaluation, the student must be readmitted to the College and complete at least 12 credit hours of coursework.
  • The student must maintain at least a 2.50 GPA on those 12 credit hours.
  • The Registrar, at the request of the student, will reevaluate the cumulative grade point average as appropriate.
  • A reevaluation is provided only once for each student.
  • Note: Recipients of financial aid or veteran’s benefits may not be eligible for this forgiveness policy based on federal guidelines and regulations. The student should contact the Office of Financial Aid for more information.
