Request Emergency Aid

The Emergency Aid Program provides limited short-term financial assistance to currently enrolled students and active employees who experience an unexpected financial emergency that may impact their ability to remain enrolled or employed at Lenoir Community College.

Eligible Situations

Eligible needs may include transportation issues (vehicle repair, fuel, etc.), rent or utility at risk of disconnection or eviction, internet access necessary for school or work, food insecurity, and medical or family emergencies.

Eligibility Requirements

Curriculum Students

  • Curriculum students – currently enrolled in at least 6 credit hours.

  • Students must be in good standing with current coursework and not currently at risk for withdrawal. Must have a 2.0 minimum LCC GPA.
  • Must demonstrate an unforeseen financial emergency impacting academic or work continuity.
  • Must provide supporting documentation (such as a bill, notice, or repair estimate).

  • Student may receive a lifetime maximum of $500 in emergency aid.

Continuing Education Students

  • Continuing Education students – currently enrolled in at least a 150-hour course.

  • Must demonstrate an unforeseen financial emergency impacting academic or work continuity.
  • Must provide supporting documentation (such as a bill, notice, or repair estimate).

  • Student may receive a lifetime maximum of $500 in emergency aid.

LCC Employees

  • LCC employees – Full-Time

  • Must demonstrate an unforeseen financial emergency impacting academic or work continuity.
  • Must provide supporting documentation (such as a bill, notice, or repair estimate).

  • Employees may receive aid as determined by available funding and approval.

Funding and Oversight

Funds are limited and subject to availability. The College reserves the right to deny or approve applications based on documentation, eligibility, and available funding. All awards are considered one-time emergency assistance and not recurring financial support.

Application Process

Email Sherry Irsik to determine eligibility. Applicants will be notified of a decision within 3 business days. Payments will be made directly to the vendor or provider whenever possible.
