Footloose
Directed by: Jessica Cruz
We are beyond thrilled to begin the journey of bringing Footloose to our stage. While this show is famous for its music, it is truly a story about a community finding its way through collective grief. It’s about the different ways we heal, the struggle to let go, and the eventual discovery of joy after loss. We can’t wait to see the heart and honesty you bring to these roles.

A Note from the Director, Jessica Cruz
ore than anything, we want this production to reflect the vibrant spirit of our local area. We are looking for people from all walks of life in our community to join us. Whether you are a seasoned performer or this is your very first time stepping into the spotlight, we want you to audition. We want voices that are raw, spirits that are bold, and a cast that feels like a real community.
To tell this story authentically, we need a cast that truly represents the heart of our town.
New and Familiar Faces: Whether you have been on our stage for years or have never auditioned for a show in your life, I want to see you. We are looking to showcase seasoned local talent alongside fresh, new voices.
Heart and Drive: I am not just looking for “perfect” performers. I am looking for people with heart, a drive to tell a great story, and the determination to put in the work.
Team Players: A production is only as strong as its team members. We are looking for individuals who are encouraging others, consistently on time, and come to rehearsals prepared.
Risk-Takers: Theatre is about growth! I value performers who are open to learning and willing to take creative risks in a supportive environment.
If you are someone who loves to collaborate and wants to be part of a hard-working, passionate team, please consider auditioning. We want this process to be as much about building a supportive team as it is about putting on a great show.
I am so looking forward to seeing the honesty and energy you bring to these characters. Thank you in advance for your bravery in sharing your talent with us!

A Note from the Choreographer, Rosie Cruz
everyone! I am so excited to go into the room with you. While Footloose is famous for its big production numbers, my goal for this show is to find movement that feels honest. You don’t need to be a professional dancer to audition; we need people from our community who aren’t afraid to move with heart.
I am looking for:
- Storytellers: I want to see the emotion behind the movement. Why is your character dancing? What are they trying to say that they can’t put into words?
- Energy: Bring your unique personality and a willingness to try. I value your effort and your “spark” far more than a perfect pirouette.
- Authenticity: We want the cast to look like members of a real town. I’m looking for a diverse range of movement styles and physicality that feel grounded and true.
Please wear clothes you can breathe and move in, and bring some water. We’re going to learn a combination together in a high-energy, low-pressure environment. My goal is to make sure everyone feels supported and successful from the moment they step onto the floor.
Don’t worry about hitting every step perfectly; just show me how you express joy and release! I can’t wait to see the unique energy you bring to the room. Let’s tell this story through movement.
