MARINE CORPS BIRTHDAY BOOTCAMP

Tuesday | November 10 @ 6 p.m.

Today, we celebrate the founding of the United States Marine Corps. Join us for a 40-minute virtual bootcamp workout session!

Expect full-body strength and conditioning for all fitness levels.  No equipment needed and family friendly. We encourage you to join a few minutes early to ensure that you have a good connection.

This fun and intense workout will be led by former Marines and current Lenoir Community College employees Jamal McMillion and Erik Perez.

What you will need to participate: Zoom access, Mat, Towel, Water, Space.

Once you register, we will send you the session ID and password for this free event.

COOKING WITH A VET

Wednesday | November 11 @ 6 p.m.

Join us for a free 60-minute cooking class with Lenoir Community College’s Chef Jeff Yourdon, also a veteran of the Armed Forces.

This class is as interactive as you want it to be! Cook along with Chef Jeff, watch, take notes, and come with all your questions.  This class will be conducted via Zoom, where participants will be able to share their screen and get real-time feedback from Chef Jeff.

Prior to class, we recommend getting organized by preparing your ingredients and gathering your cooking utensils.  This is what is called Mise en Place!

This will allow you to easily access all necessary ingredients and materials during the demonstration to best cook along with Chef Jeff.

Menu, recipes, and ingredient lists will be emailed a week prior to class, along with the Zoom session ID and password.

YOGA & MEDITATION

Thursday | November 12 @ 6 p.m.

You are invited to join Fit and Flow’s Michelle Philipp of Greenville for a 60-minute virtual yoga and meditation session. Consider this class as a reset for your mind and soul. Come with an open heart and you will leave full of energy, practices you can do on your own and inspiration to get you through this tough time.

The session will occur virtually through Zoom. Those who attend are encouraged to show up in comfortable clothes in a space where you can do quiet meditation and yoga.

“I have been practicing yoga for over eight years. I graduated from Cloud Nine Yoga school in San Clemente, CA in 2013. In 2014, I became certified in iRest Yoga Nidra and it is something I believe deeply in. After my own experiences I realize how much positivity yoga and meditation can bring others. It is now my passion to share this practice with as many people as possible.”
