We provide FREE assistance to the general public as well as assist students with Job Search, Resume Preparation, and Interviewing Skills.

Our Mission
Representing the area’s major workforce agencies, NCWorks Career Centers in Greene, Jones, and Lenoir counties provide comprehensive employment and training services for job seekers, training seekers, and employers in a convenient, one-stop career center.

Local agency representatives work together as a team to provide the most comprehensive and efficient services possible for the public. Local NCWorks partners include representatives from Lenoir Community College, Employment Security Commission, Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), Vocational Rehabilitation, Greene Lamp, Telamon, Job Corps, Department of Social Services, Coastal Women’s Shelter, and Coastal Community Action. NCWorks Career Centers provide employers a single place to address their employment and training needs. Local workforce development professionals from various partner agencies work together to provide the best service for all customers.

The goal is to provide comprehensive workforce services that meet the needs of large or small employers.

Training Your Workforce
Tailoring Our Training Services to Meet Your Business Needs:

  • Customized Training for Employees
    Training modified to meet a company’s specific workforce objectives based on job task analysis.
  • On-The-Job Training Opportunities
    Participating employers may be reimbursed up to 50% of the individual’s starting wage rate during the training period.
  • Skills Assessments of Job Candidates
    Applicants or current employees can receive skill/aptitude testing through our NCWorks Centers.
  • Workplace Literacy
    An instructional program that addresses job-specific basic skills competencies.

WorkKeys® is a comprehensive workforce development system that assesses generic workplace skill sets and effectively matches people with jobs. Three Components of the WorkKeys® System:

  1.  Assessment
    An ACT® validated method for measuring individual skill levels in 8 areas (ex. applied technology, locating information).
    Determines critical tasks performed in a job and the skill level required to do the job.
  3. Training
    LCC provides the training component, KeyTrain™, designed to help a person improve workplace skills, employment readiness, and advancement in an occupational field.
