ACT WorkKeys National Career Readiness Certificate
(ACT® WorkKeys® NCRC®)
Individuals who successfully complete the three core WorkKeys assessments will earn the ACT WorkKeys NCRC, a valuable credential for students and job seekers seeking to verify foundational workplace skills. You can earn the ACT WorkKeys NCRC at the Platinum, Gold, Silver, or Bronze level based on your scores on the core assessments.
Based on the data from more than 21,000 job profiles, ACT has identified three foundational skills that are essential to success in most jobs. These are the three core skill assessments that are the basis for earning the ACT WorkKeys NCRC:
Applied Math– measures the ability to apply mathematic principles to problems
Graphic Literacy– measures the ability to find, analyze and apply information presented
Workplace Documents– measures the ability to understand and apply written information presented in the workplace
When you require or recommend the ACT WorkKeys NCRC from your applicants, you’ll tap into the most qualified labor pool in your area.
The credential is awarded in four levels and verifies skills proficiency in:
- Problem solving
- Critical thinking
- Reading and using work-related text
- Applying information from workplace documents to solve problems
- Applying mathematical reasoning to work-related problems
- Setting up and performing work-related mathematical calculations
Want to brush-up on your skills before taking the actual test?
Enroll in one of our walk-in NCRC test prep classes at a Lenoir Community College campus nearest to you. The classes are internet based, interactive, and self-paced. A fee waiver may be available for the class if you are unemployed or underemployed.
The test fee can be waived upon completion of 30 hours of test prep (at level 4 or higher). Test prep hours MUST be completed prior to pre-registering for the actual test to qualify for the test fee waiver. Enroll in an NCRC test prep class on an LCC campus and you can continue your test prep from home if you have internet access.

Access Test Results
You’ve earned your NCRC–now what?
Put your NCRC to work by sharing your achievement with potential or current employers.
To protect your privacy ACT does not release any information until you have authorized it. For employers to verify your NCRC, you must make your certificate “public” on www.myworkkeys.com. If you’ve received an email from ACT with your User ID and Password, an account may have already been created for you. To view and share your certificate details you must use this information to login to your account. You can also follow the steps provided on the website to create a free account.
Update your resume– Include your NCRC level information on your resume and job applications.
Register on NCWorks Online– Complete set of employment tools for job seekers in North Carolina. Search jobs, create resumes, find education and training. Employers can find candidates, post jobs, search labor market information.
