Heritage Place was established in 1988. It is located on the campus of Lenoir Community College as part of the Learning Resources Center. Research material focuses primarily on eastern North Carolina (service areas--Greene, Jones and Lenoir counties) but also includes a large section of Virginia. Extensive microfilm holdings include all available censuses for North Carolina and through 1850 for Virginia. Old Dobbs County is a special feature of local research.

Please Note:
The staff is pleased to assist researchers with the genealogical and local history collections in Heritage Place but is not able to undertake detailed research.
