| Dawson has
built the Lancers into a junior college powerhouse, compiling over 450
wins during his career at LCC. He currently has the longest tenure of Junior College Basketball coaches in Region X. A Lenoir County native, he has served as
an assistant coach at Fayetteville State University. Dawson’s 1985-86
squad captured the Region X Eastern Division title, earning him division
Coach of the year honors. He also was named Eastern Tarheel Conference
Coach of the Year after the 1982 season. In 1995-96 the Lancers finished
seventh in the nation in Division II. Dawson received his bachelor’s
degree from Fayetteville State University and his master’s degree
from the U.S. Sports Academy in Mobile, AL. |
