The
Global Logistics Technology Curriculum prepares individuals for a multitude
of career opportunities in distribution, transportation, and manufacturing
organizations. Classroom instruction, field of study experiences, and
practical laboratory applications of logistics management and global technology
capabilities are included in the program of study.
Course
work includes computer applications, accounting, business law, economics,
management, industrial sciences, and international studies. Students will
solve different levels of logistics-related problems through case study
evaluations and supply chain projects utilizing logistical hardware and
intelligent software tools.
Graduates should qualify for positions in a wide range of government agencies,
manufacturing, and service organizations. Employment opportunities include
entry-level purchasing, material management, warehousing, inventory, transportation
coordinators, and logistics analysts. Upon completion, graduates may be
eligible for certification credentials through APICS, and AST&L.
Transfer
to East Carolina University:
Upon completion, students can transfer to ECU and begin work on their
B.S. degree in Industrial Distribution and Logistics and further to a
M.S. in Logistics.
Transfer to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University:
Embry-Riddle
Aeronautical University (ERAU) and Lenoir Community College (LCC) have
agreed to provide educational opportunities
for students at LCC who wish to transfer to ERAU. This Articulation Agreement
in Professional Aeronautics between Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University
and Lenoir Community College is designed to facilitate the transfer of
students from LCC to ERAU. The Articulation Agreement should be used
by students who are intending to make the transfer under these programs
and by the faculty, advisors, counselors, and others who might be advising
those students.
