The 2 + 2 Engineering Program is a partnership between Lenoir Community College and the state-supported Colleges of Engineering in North Carolina. Students complete two years at Lenoir Community College and then finish their degree in two more years at NC A & T State University, NC State University, or UNC Charlotte. The curriculum is composed of English, Humanities, Mathematics, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, Computer Science, and Engineering courses.
The 2+2 Engineering program can prepare students for the following degrees: Aeropspace, Biological, Civil, Computer, Construction, Electrical, Mechanical, and Textile Engineering.
The 2+ 2 Engineering Program includes courses taught on the Lenoir Community College campus by distance learning techniques. These courses may be taught by faculty members from either NC State University, University of North Carolina at Charlotte, or North Carolina A & T State University. Typically, these courses are taught in the fall semester and spring semester of the student's second year. These courses include, but are not limited to the following:

There is a resident director at Lenoir Community College to advise students who are in the 2+2 Engineering Program. The resident director also helps coordinate course scheduling and teach classes. The Director is on the faculty at NC State University.
Upon completion, students may apply for admission as juniors in engineering at NC
A & T State University, NC State University or UNC Charlotte.
