NAME OF POSITION: Custodian

SALARY RANGE: Salary based on College's Salary Plan

QUALIFICATIONS:  
The custodian must utilize large, wet mops to clean and apply wax to floors for extended periods of time.  He/she must operate and control high and low speed stripping/buffing machines.  He/she must be able to ascend and descend stairs.  Three years of custodial experience is preferred.  The custodian must be a team player and work with minimal supervision.                  

POSITION DUTIES:
The custodian will perform cleaning and maintenance of the college facilities and buildings. The facilities cleaned will include offices, restrooms, game and pool rooms, the gymnasium and classrooms. The custodian will maintain restrooms and replenish bathroom supplies.  He/she must sweep, mop, and vacuum floors and carpets as well as strip and wax floors.   The custodian will empty ashtrays, trash and garbage containers, and dust shelves and office furniture. He/she will assist in setting up facilities for special events.  Additional duties may be assigned by the supervisor.
