Lenoir Community College is hosting GOSPELFEST 2008 on April 5, 2008 in the Waller Auditorium on the LCC campus. GOSPELFEST 2008 is a competition of the best singers, duets, trios, quartets, and choirs in the Lenoir County/eastern North Carolina area.
All area churches are invited to send one group, consisting of one to 12 people, to participate in the event. Each singer or singers will be allowed to perform two songs of their choosing. Singers may be accompanied by church musicians or may use a recorded track. LCC will provide a piano.
The performances will be scored by out-of-state judges who are familiar with many styles of gospel music. The person or group who receives the highest score will be awarded the engraved GOSPELFEST Bowl to keep for one year until the next competition.
The event is part of LCC's celebration of the college's 50th year.
