The Lenoir Community College Playmakers will present the musical “Oliver” by Lionel Bart at 8 p.m. Oct. 25 - 27 and at 2 p.m. Oct. 28 in the Waller Auditorium. General admission tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for children, senior citizens and students with identification.
Oliver is a musical that sends a powerful message of hope. The musical is based upon Charles Dickens’ Oliver Twist. This show was a 1961 London and Broadway musical hit. The production hit the silver screen as Carol Reed's Oscar-winning 1968 film.
The LCC Playmakers’ cast and crew include community members as well as LCC employees. There is always an extra air of excitement when children and adults interact on stage. This is an ageless performance with something for everyone.
Mitch Butts is the choreographer and Clay Whittington is the musical director. Others with be adding behind the scenes support.
Oliver, the orphan who so piteously asked “Please Sir, may I have some more?” takes a journey from orphanage, to servitude, to heir of a fortune.
Join the LCC Playmakers to witness as hope is reborn in the heart of a young boy, delight in an amusingly absurd series of events, and leave with a song in your heart.
