Members of the Lenoir Community College Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) Chapter brought home national honors from the National Leadership/Competition held recently in Nashville, Tennessee.
More than 7,000 delegates representing 15,000 chapters from across the United States, the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Guam, the Cayman Islands, and the Department of Defense schools worldwide represented their chapters and competed in more than 50 events representing a wide range of business, technology, and leadership activities.
First and second place winners meet annually at a national conference to compete for top honors in their respective events. LCC PBL has returned with national honors five years in a row.
This year, LCC students competed in two events. Winning first place nationally in Desktop Publishing was the team of Jewel Owens and Tom Foyles. Winning second place nationally for Multimeda Presentation and their presentation on “Identity Theft” was the team of Carlos Dodd and Tom Foyles.
Owens is a 2006 Graphics Arts and Imaging Technology graduate and former LCC Javelin editor. Dodd is a 2006 graduate in Computer Programming and Foyles is currently studying Business Administration. |
