The Lenoir Community College Foundation, Inc. awarded the Future Farmers of America Scholarship for 2006-2007 to attend LCC this fall as follows: Lauren Nicole Moretz of Richlands, a graduate of Richlands High School, is currently enrolled in the Welding Technology program. She was a member of the Agriculture Mechanics team for 2005 and an alternate for the 2006 team. She is the daughter of Emanuel Santiago. The LCC Foundation, Inc. awarded the West Pharmaceutical Services Scholarship for 2006-2007 to attend LCC this fall as follows: Rebecca Lynn Paschal of Trenton, a graduate of Jones Senior High School, is currently enrolled in the Radiography program. She is a member of the National Honor Society and her future plans are to transfer to UNC Wilmington to continue her education. She is the daughter of Randy and Donna Paschal. The LCC Foundation, Inc. awarded the W. Foster and Mary L. Gurley Memorial Scholarship for 2006-2007 to attend LCC this fall as follows: Amelia Kay Thigpen of Kinston, a graduate of North Lenoir High School, is currently enrolled in the Biology Education program. She was named to the President’s List and was nominated for Who’s Who Among American Junior College Students. Her future plans are to attend East Carolina University and receive her Bachelor’s degree in Science Education. She is the daughter of Royce and Rebecca Thigpen. The LCC Foundation, Inc. awarded the Bradley Blair (Brad) Burmahl Memorial Scholarship for 2006-2007 to attend LCC this fall as follows: Daniel Ray Mooring of Kinston, a graduate of North Lenoir High School, is currently enrolled in the Aviation Management and Career Pilot Technology program. Hel is a National Honor Roll Inductee, and has been listed in Who’s Who Among American High School Students. He has also received athletic and academic letters, the Danny Ray Waller Memorial Scholarship, the Robbie Dail Memorial Scholarship, North Lenoir FFA Alumni Scholarship, and many other awards. His future plans are to attend the Seymour Johnson Branch of Embry-Riddle University to obtain a four year degree in Aviation. He is the son of Tammy Williams Mooring and David Lee Mooring. The LCC Foundation, Inc. awarded the Miss Lenoir Community College Scholarship for 2006-2007 to attend LCC this fall as follows: Mary Catherine Lanier of Kinston, a graduate of Mount Calvary Christian Academy, is currently enrolled in the Cosmetology program. She was named to the Dean’s List and her future plans are to transfer to East Carolina University to obtain a four year business degree. She is the daughter of Tim and Susie Lanier. The LCC Foundation, Inc. awarded the Eloise C. and Harvey E. Beech Scholarship for 2006-2007 to attend LCC this fall as follows: Andrea Corinne Muhammad of Kinston, a graduate of St. Gregory High School, is currently enrolled in the Psychology program. She was named to the Dean’s List and her future plans are to transfer to East Carolina University to obtain her Master’s degree in Psychology, then her Ph.D. and help minority women and children overcome mental health boundaries. She is the wife of Robert Muhammad. The LCC Foundation, Inc. awarded the Henry H. and Vera F. Bullock and the Faculty Memorial Scholarship for 2006-2007 to attend LCC this fall as follows: Oscar Gutierrez of Pink Hill, a graduate of South Lenoir High School, is currently enrolled in Computer Programming. He was named to the President’s List, is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, and was the 2006 LCC Graduation Marshall. His future plans are to transfer to East Carolina University to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and then a Master’s degree. He is the son of Alvaro and Elisa Gutierrez. The LCC Foundation, Inc. awarded the Future Farmers of America Scholarship for 2006-2007 to attend LCC this fall as follows: Anthony Donyelle Baker of Grifton, a graduate of North Lenoir High School, is currently enrolled in the Horticulture program. He is the FFA Vice President and his future plans are to operate his own landscaping company. He is the son of Linton and Dorothy Baker. The LCC Foundation, Inc. awarded the Henry A. and Lucile Reed Edwards Scholarship for 2006-2007 to attend LCC this fall as follows: Joshua Paul Gates of Kinston, a graduate of Bethel Christian Academy, is currently enrolled in the Electrical Engineering program. He is a National Honor Society member, a Senior High Athlete of the Year, Soccer MVP, and Basketball MVP. His future plans are to transfer to N.C. State University to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. He is the son of Donnie and Dianne Gates.
