The Lenoir Community College Foundation, Inc. awarded the Mayor and Mrs. O. A. (Buddy) Ritch Scholarship for 2006-2007 to attend LCC this fall as follows: Betty Perry Ham of Pink Hill, a graduate of Jones Senior High School, is currently enrolled in the Medical Assisting program. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, was named to the Dean’s List, has received the All American Scholar award, Minority Leader award, LAP Excellence Award, and Student of the Month awards. Her future plans are to enroll in the Nursing program. She is the daughter of James W. Perry. The LCC Foundation, Inc. awarded the George Dewey and Jessie Heath Jenkins Scholarship for 2006-2007 to attend LCC this fall as follows: Kara Lynn Small of Dover, a graduate of North Lenoir High School, is currently enrolled in the Court Reporting and Culinary Arts programs. She is the wife of Marty Small and daughter of Shelby Davenport, Woodrow Davenport and Ruth Davenport. The LCC Foundation, Inc. awarded the C. Felix Harvey, Jr. Scholarship for 2006-2007 to attend LCC this fall as follows: Ellen Quinn Murphy of Pink Hill, a graduate of Jones Central High School, is currently enrolled in the Medical Assisting program. She was named to the Dean’s List and her future plans are to become a certified medical assistant. She is the wife of Lewis Murphy and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.R. Quinn. The LCC Foundation, Inc. awarded the Martha Wooten Kallam/ARC of Lenoir County Scholarship for 2006-2007 to attend LCC this fall as follows: Gatha C. Tyson of Dover, a graduate of West Craven High School, is currently enrolled in the Psychology program. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa and is the Music Director of Dover United Methodist Church. Her future plans are attend East Carolina University for a B.A. in Psychology and eventually obtain a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. She is the wife of Richard L. Tyson and daughter of late Fred and Estelle Cole. The LCC Foundation, Inc. awarded the E. Merle Edwards Scholarship for 2006-2007 to attend LCC this fall as follows: Elwood Loftin of Kinston, a graduate of Adkin Senior High School, is currently enrolled in the Culinary Arts program. Loftin was named to the President’s List and the National Dean’s List, has received the All American Scholar Award, and the Minority Leadership Award. Her future plans are to start a small catering business after graduating. She is the daughter of Thelma Nunn and the late Lorenzo Nunn. The LCC Foundation, Inc. awarded the W. Robert and Suzanne S. Bizzell Health Science Scholarship for 2006-2007 to attend LCC this fall as follows: Tanya LaShawn Taylor of Kinston, a graduate of South Lenoir High School, is currently enrolled in the Nursing program. She was named to the Dean’s List and a member of Phi Theta Kappa. Her future plans are to obtain a Bachelor’s degree and possibly a Master’s. She is the wife of Gary Taylor and mother of Ethan Taylor. The LCC Foundation, Inc. awarded the Jesse L. and Joyce P. McDaniel Scholarship for 2006-2007 to attend LCC this fall as follows: Kari Suzanne Deaver of Kinston, a graduate of North Lenoir High School, is currently enrolled in the Elementary Education program. Her future plans are to become an elementary school teacher. She is the wife of Glenn Deaver and mother of Austin and Mason Deaver. The LCC Foundation, Inc. awarded the John Hood Brewer Memorial Scholarship for 2006-2007 to attend LCC this fall as follows: Ashley Diane Howard of Kinston, a graduate of South Lenoir High School, is currently enrolled in the Nursing program. She is a North Carolina Academic Scholar and her future plans are to transfer to East Carolina University to receive her Master’s degree in Nursing and an Anesthesiology degree. She is the daughter of Tommy and Diane Howard. The LCC Foundation, Inc. awarded The Brody Brothers’ Foundation Scholarship for 2006-2007 to attend LCC this fall as follows: Hannah B. Moye of Kinston is currently enrolled in the Office Systems Technology and Business Administration programs. She is a member of the National Scholars Honor Society and was named to the President’s List. Her future plans are to attend a four year university to obtain her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. She is the wife of Jackie Moye and daughter of Mr. Wayne and Elizabeth Ann Duckworth. The LCC Foundation, Inc. awarded the P.E. and Leta Shoulars Scholarship for 2006-2007 to attend LCC this fall as follows: Virgilio A. Lisboa of Ayden, a graduate of Colegio Macedo Soares-Brazil, is currently enrolled in the ADN program. He is a North Carolina Nursing Scholar, and a member of Phi Theta Kappa. The LCC Foundation, Inc. awarded the W. Foster and Mary L. Gurley Memorial Scholarship for 2006-2007 to attend LCC this fall as follows: Carlos Amaya of Kinston, a graduate of South Lenoir High School, is currently enrolled in the Nursing program. He an LCC Student Ambassador and his future plans are to continue his education at a four year university. He is the son of Jose Amaya Calix and Alba Rosales. The LCC Foundation, Inc. awarded the Shirley Jenkins Tripp Memorial Scholarship for 2006-2007 to attend LCC this fall as follows: Brandon Thomas James of Pink Hill, a graduate of South Lenoir High School, is currently enrolled in the Business Administration program. He was named to the Dean’s List and is a member of Phi Theta Kappa. His future plans are to transfer to UNCW and obtain his Master’s degree in Public Accounting. He is the son of Rodney and Debra James.
