Learn how to play the piano or reach impossible dreams. Take a trip to Spain or enjoy a railway journey.

Those are all the things you can learn and experience if you watch Lenoir Community College faculty and staff members on UNC-TV from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday. The college is helping the network raise money for its annual Festival campaign.

UNC-TV, North Carolina's Public Broadcasting Service, wants to raise $3.3 million during Festival. The campaign lasts through March 26. The station has raised $1.9 million so far.

Lenoir Community College is sending 42 faculty and staff members and administrators to the studios in the Research Triangle Park. LCC President Brantley Briley came up with the idea for the college to participate in the fund-raising drive. Briley and his wife, Eugenia, volunteered for Festival in past years.

"It shows that we're good partners in education, and it will bring faculty and staff closer together," Briley said.

LCC volunteers will answer phones and take donations. Everyone will wear navy blue LCC T-shirts and sweatshirts. Briley is scheduled to talk about the college in two on-air segments.

"We're looking forward to having a good time," said Jeanne Kennedy, LCC Foundation director.

Kennedy said she didn't know what kind of participation to expect since this is the college's first time volunteering for Festival.

"We immediately had enough to do a whole shift that morning," Kennedy said.

Working with UNC-TV is a natural partnership, Kennedy said.

"Their slogan is 'Learning for a Lifetime' and that's what the community college does," she said.
