In response to the need for more teachers, East Carolina University College of Education is offering degree opportunities in elementary education, special education, and middle grades education through Wachovia Partnership East. Applications for all three programs are available by email: gradyde@waynecc.edu. Wachovia Partnership East is designed to allow students to complete their general education coursework at one of the partnering community colleges and then transfer into the ECU program to complete their junior and senior years of the teaching degree in elementary education, special education, or middle grades education. Classes will be taught by ECU faculty via face to face instruction at the hub site community college campus, online delivery, or blended delivery models. The Wachovia Partnership East South Central Consortium serves students from LCC, James Sprunt Community College, Johnston Community College, Sampson Community College, Wayne Community College, and Seymour Johnston Air Force Base; as well as the local school systems in Greene, Duplin, Lenoir, Johnston, Sampson, and Wayne Counties. Interested applicants should contact hub site coordinator, Debbie Grady, at gradyde@waynecc.edu or (919) 735-5152, ext. 385 for further information. Applications may be picked up at the Wayne Community College office or emailed to applicants. Applications are due by Oct. 1 for special education majors; Feb. 1 for middle grades education majors; and Feb. 15 for elementary education majors.
