LCC Spotlights Students of the Month

Lenoir Community College students of the month for March are Scotty Potter of LaGrange and Angie Dove Robles of Kinston.

Potter is enrolled in the Environmental Science/Water Resources Management Program. He completed his Automotive Technology degree at LCC and is currently working part time as an instructor in the Automotive Program while attending college full time. A single father of two, he is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa and the Environmental Science Club. He is an event leader for the Region 10 North Carolina Science Olympiad.

"Scotty is one of the students an instructor enjoys having in class," said LCC Environmental Science/Water Resources Management Program Head Barry Huneycutt. "He is an excellent student and an asset to the college, not only as an instructor, but as a student as well."

Robles is currently enrolled in the Pre-Nursing program and holds a 3.5 grade point average. The mother of two children, she is an active participant in the Workforce Investment Act program at LCC. She has volunteered as a tutor for students at LCC who need assistance with algebra and reading. She also works 20 hours a week as a work study student in the JobLink/WIA area of Continuing Education.

"She has been a tremendous asset to JobLink staff," Director of Special Programs and Joblink Renee Sutton said. "Angie always goes above and beyond the call of duty to provide excellent customer service to JobLink customers. We are proud to have her as a part of our team."
