LCC Phi Theta Kappa Receives Awards

The Lenoir Community College Omicron Rho Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa was recently awarded 12 honors for achievement at the 2003 Carolinas Regional Convention in Charleston, South Carolina.

The chapter received Five Star Level Chapter status. For the past four years, the chapter has participated in the development program. The program is, in effect, a chapter business plan. Incorporated into the program are basic chapter administration, regional activities, the International Service Program, the Honors Topic, Hallmark Awards, International Activities, and a comprehensive College project.

The chapter also received Distinguished Chapter Award, hallmark Awards for Service, Leadership and Fellowship, Super Star Chapter and Most Improved Chapter Award. The Horizon Advisor Award was presented to advisor Carolyn Crossland and co-advisor Wendy Philyaw. Crossland also received the Distinguished Chapter Advisor Award.

The LCC Chapter is planning to initiate a comprehensive program on the Honors Study, Directions and Dimensions: Health Choices in the Maze with the Health Sciences, Social Work and Human Service programs.
