LCC Phi
Beta Lambda Students Win Awards at State Event
Six Lenoir
Community College students have received awards at the state competition
of Phi Beta Lambda (PBL). The event featured more than 400 students, advisors
and professional division members representing 31 college chapters. First
and second place winners will represent the state chapter at the National
Leadership Conference in Dallas Texas, in June.
- Dondi
Duff-Byrd received first place in the future business teacher competition,
Who's Who in NC PBL, and was also one of the team members that received
first place in the desktop publishing competition. Duff-Byrd also serves
as the LCC chapter President.
- Kim Miller
received first place in the future business executive competition and
second place in the economics competition.
- Jennifer
Jones was a team member that received first place in the desktop publishing
competition. She also serves as the LCC chapter Vice-President.
- Sandra
Wingate was a team member that received second place in business plan
competition.
- Carlos
Dodd was a team member that received second place in website development
and business plan and fifth place in multimedia presentation. He also
received eighth place in computer concepts. He serves as the LCC Chapter
Reporter.
- Eddie
Wiggins received first place in visual basic competition and was a team
member that received second place in website development and fifth place
in multimedia presentation. He also serves as the LCC chapter Historian.
- Rondi
Sugg and other students also competed in information management, human
resource management, management, and computer concepts.
