LCC Students
Honored at Phi Beta Lambda National Leadership Conference
Six Lenoir
Community College Phi Beta Lambda students recently competed in the Future
Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda, Inc. (FBLA-PBL) National
Leadership Conference held in Dallas, Texas.
LCC placed in three out of four national events. Those placing were: Dondi
Duff-Byrd and Jennifer Jones placed fourth in the Desktop Publishing team
event. LCC was the only North Carolina college to place in this event;
Carlos Dodd and Sandra Wingate placed fifth in the Business Plan team
event; Eddie Wiggins placed second in the Visual Basic individual event.
Kim Miller also competed at the nationals. LCC students won 13 PBL events
this year at the state and national level, according to LCC PBL advisor
Walter Martin. "These are a great group of students."
First and second place winners from across the United States, the Virgin
Islands, Puerto Rico, Guam, the Cayman Islands, and the Department of
Defense schools worldwide represented their chapters and competed in 39
events representing a wide range of business, technology, and leadership
activities. Because of the sixe of the events, 10 places are awarded in
all national PBL events.
