LCC Diversity Day Essay Winner Honored

Lenoir Community College recently held it fifth Annual Diversity Day program. The theme this year, "We're All In This Together" was also the theme of the annual essay contest sponsored by the Student Government Association.

First place winner Matt Salzman, left, is congratulated by LCC President Dr. Steve Scott. Salzman of Richlands is pursuing an associate in arts degree and plans to transfer to a four-year university to become a high school Biology instructor. He is the son of Lt. Col. Dave Salzman and Linda Salzman.

Second place winner was Cora Leggett. Salzman and Leggett were awarded cash prizes by the SGA. Honorable mention was award to Donna Michelle King, Holman Skinner, Jared Sutton, Robert Bryant Jr. and Sharon McPhail.
