Margaret Blount Harvey Early Childhood Scholarship Established

The Board of Directors of the Lenoir/Greene Partnership for Children has established the Margaret Blount Harvey Early Childhood Scholarship at Lenoir Community College through the LCC Foundation. The scholarship is to honor Harvey and her lifelong achievements and to perpetuate her desire for quality early childhood education. Harvey was instrumental in bringing the Smart Start initiative to Lenoir and Greene Counties in 1995 and she served as the board's first chairperson. The scholarship will be used to assist students pursuing degrees in the area of Early Childhood education.
