I'm a GED graduate. Can I qualify for a scholarship?
Yes. Scholarships are available for GED and Adult High School Diploma recipients. |
Are there scholarships for part-time students?
Yes, a few, and these are pro-rated on the number of hours taken each semester. |
How can I increase my chances of being selected?
a. Complete the entire application
b. Get references from individuals who know you professionally (employer, teacher, or counselor)
c. Describe your school-related and volunteer/community service activities and work experience |
What is the deadline for applying?
Your scholarship application is due the first Monday in April for the next academic year. |
Are scholarships renewable?
No. You must complete a new scholarship application each year. |
Are there scholarships for Summer Semester?
No. Awards are not available for the Summer Semester. |
How will I receive the scholarship?
You will receive notification by mail if you are selected. You will also receive a list of tasks you must complete to receive the award. When you go to the Cashier's office to pay your tuition, your scholarship award will be subtracted from the amount you owe for tuition and fees. The remaining balance will be available for you to use in the LCC Book Store. |
How much are the scholarships?
Scholarship awards range from $300 to $1,500. |
Could I lose my award?
Students who receive a Fall Semester award must maintain a 2.0 GPA and the appropriate number of credit hours to receive their award for the Spring Semester. |
Only one application needs to be submitted for all scholarships available. |
