The students are washing and detailing automobiles and contributing the donations received to the LCC Foundation for Jones County scholarships. After the students wash and clean the automobiles, they meet in class to evaluate their work and make recommendations for improvement or change for the following week’s class.
While the class is learning work ethic, communication skills, teamwork skills, and soft skills necessary to become successful in the business world, they are also participating in a service project and giving back to their community.
The scholarship fund will benefit Jones County residents who choose to attend Lenoir Community College. To learn more about this service project, employability skills classes, or the Battle of the Choirs, contact LCC Jones County Center Director Renee Sutton at 448-5021. |
