The program's instructors combine their industry experience with instructional knowledge to train students for today's work force. They actively participate in workshops and seminars to upgrade their technical skills. They have taught numerous workshops for industry, as well as for other educators. They are members of the Printing Industry of the Carolinas (PICA) and the N.C. Association of Graphics and Design Educators (AGDE). During 1995-97, they directed a statewide Curriculum Improvement Project, which was awarded by the North Carolina Community College System for the purpose of updating all N.C. community college commercial art, commercial graphics, and graphic arts programs. They maintain close contact with industry to ensure students are receiving the skills they need to succeed.
