Lenoir Community College will begin a new class in Maysville beginning March 16. A new GED class will be offered at the Maysville Fire Department from 9am-noon on Monday and Wednesday mornings. Desmon Brinkley will be the instructor for the new class. A GED class is currently offered at the Maysville Library on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6:30-9:30. Plans are underway to also offer a variety of basic computer courses at the Maysville Fire Department. The GED class is offered at no charge to the public. “We are very excited to have this opportunity to increase our services in the Maysville area. We run a variety of fire training classes and we have the evening GED class, and we are happy to have the chance to increase daytime offerings for the public,” stated Renee Sutton, LCC Associate Dean of Continuing Education for Jones County.
