Admission of Transfer Students
A student desiring to transfer to Lenoir Community College who has been a student attending another post-secondary institution must be able to meet the admission requirements and provide proof of eligibility to return to the institution last attended. Transfer students who are on suspension at their previously attended college or university must maintain a 2.00 GPA for their first semester of enrollment at LCC, or they will be placed on academic probation. A visiting student must meet the transfer student admission requirements if the student decides to attend LCC as a regular student. |

Special Credit Students
The special credit student classification is designed for persons who want to
enroll in courses without completing admissions requirements or declaring
a major program of study. Special credit students usually are permitted to accumulate
fifteen (15) semester hours before fulfilling the regular admissions requirements;
however, those wishing to take English or Math must provide evidence of
adequate preparation to begin the courses. Additionally, in order to register for courses with required prerequisites, special credit/visiting students are responsible for providing verification of successful completion of prerequisite courses. Students must submit official transcripts to the Registrar's Office at least two weeks prior to registering in order to use online registration. Special credit/visiting students who submit unofficial transcripts or who submit official transcripts late will be required to contact their advisor to register.
Visiting students from other
colleges are considered special credit students. When a special credit student selects a major, appropriate credits earned as a speical credit student are accepted toward meeting the requirements for graduation. Special credit students are not eligible for financial aid. |
