INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
Lenoir Community College

We are pleased that you have decided to apply for admission to Lenoir Community College. To come to the United States and attend college, you must first obtain a form I-20 from an institute of higher learning. This form will allow you to apply for a F-1 or M-1 visa through your nearest American embassy or consulate.

All international students must meet the general admission requirements for their program of study. Lenoir Community College's "International Student" webpage includes all the information you need in order to submit an application, and the supportive credentials needed to be considered for admission to LCC and for the issuance of an I-20 form.

HELPFUL INFORMATION

ACADEMIC CALENDAR
The academic year at Lenoir Community College is divided into two semesters of 16 weeks each and a summer term of ten weeks. Please refer to the academic calendar for specific academic dates.

FINANCIAL AID
Lenoir Community College does not offer financial aid or scholarships to international students. In general, only permanent residents and citizens of the U.S. are eligible for financial aid.

HEALTH INSURANCE
All international students who hold an F-1 visa and M-1 are required to purchase health insurance for the duration of their studies. The estimated cost is $500.00 per academic year for a single student.  Lenoir Community College does not offer any health insurance to students.

HOUSING
Lenoir Community College has no dormitories, residence halls or on-campus housing. All students must arrange for housing in the Kinston area. TRANSPORTATION
Lenoir County transportation provides transit service for Lenoir County residents to the main campus. Schedules are available at www.co.lenoir.nc.us/transit.html. Drivers of privately owned vehicles must a parking permit each semester and park in designated spaces only.

Steps in the Admissions and Enrollment Process

Submit a completed International LCC Application for Admission Form to the address below. Be sure to indicate the program of study and to sign the application.

Submit a $100 non refundable application fee. Please send a cashier’s check or money order payable to Lenoir Community College.

Have OFFICIAL high school or secondary school transcripts and official transcripts from colleges previously attended sent directly to the college or include them with your application in sealed envelopes. All transcripts must be translated in English if necessary. In the case of translated transcripts, certified copies of the original transcripts may be included with the official translation. The name you are currently using should appear on each transcript. Documentation of a legal name change should be included.

Submit a completed and notarized Affidavit of Financial Support and an original letter from your sponsor’s bank verifying a minimum amount in the account. See the Instructions for Completing Financial Documentation to Qualify for an I-20 in the application packet for detailed instructions.

Upon arrival in the Kinston area you will be scheduled to take the placement test in English and mathematics. To schedule testing, visit http://www.lenoircc.edu.

Meet with an academic advisor to interpret placement test scores, assist with course planning for the first semester, and receive registration information. Register for classes. You will pay for classes AFTER you register.

Report of medical history & immunization record signed by a practicing physician is required. The approved LCC medical form for use is included in the application packet.
