HEALTH SCIENCES ADMISSIONS
LCC Health Science Admissions

Students who are interested in applying for one of the Health Sciences programs with special admissions requirements must attend a Health Sciences application/information session.  These sessions are scheduled between September and January of each year.  Applicants to these programs must compete for admissions.  A point system is used for selecting students in this competitive admissions process.

Attention: The Health Sciences Enrollment process began on September 6, 2011. The Health Sciences process is a secondary process required for all interested students. Therefore, we encourage applicants to apply to the college for admissions purposes prior to submitting their Health Sciences request.

Health Sciences Programs Special Admissions Application Process

The application admission process for the Lenoir Community College’s Health Sciences Program has changed. In order to become a viable candidate to the program of their choice, an individual must complete the following steps:

A. Please read the prerequisite requirements for the Health Sciences Program of choice.
B. f you are not a previous or current LCC student, please apply to the college here.
C. See "It's a Health Sciences Affair" above and click the link that reads “Health Sciences Program Information Request Form”. Complete the requested information and submit and an email notification will be forwarded to a counselor for approval.
D. Approval consists of the counselor verifying the necessary prerequisites needed to apply to the particular Health Sciences Program.  If you are a new student or returning student it is very important that all transcripts from any other institutions are forwarded to Lenoir Community College as soon as possible.
E. If the interested student is eligible to apply to the Health Sciences Program, they will receive an email notification providing them the following items:
Login ID
Password
PSB Test Dates or Math Pharmacology Test Dates (LPN transition)
PSB Study Guides or Math Pharmacology Study Guide (LPN transition)
Test registration Contact Information
 

*Exception:  Dental Hygiene and Dental Assistance prospective students can only receive their application materials as a hard copy. After completing a request the individual must attend a Health Sciences face to face session to receive their information packet. This information will be indicated to them via email once they are notified of their eligibility to apply to the program.

 
F. With the given Login and Password, the individual will return to the Health Sciences Admissions Page and see "It's a Health Sciences Affair" and click the link that reads “Health Sciences Admission Application”. The individual will use the provided information to gain access and submit the electronic application.
G. Students are given the opportunity to attend a Health Sciences Session either online or face to face. After receiving approval from a counselor to apply to the program and receiving login information:
• the individual can have the application process explained in person before they apply
• or the individual can attend a face to face informational session 
If not, the individual can view the application tutorial online.
H. After applying to the Health Sciences Program, scheduling their assessment test, and securing all necessary documents to Lenoir Community College, the individual will wait to receive provisional acceptance, placed on the alternate list, or declination to their requested program.

Any questions about the Health Sciences special admissions process should be directed to a counselor located in room 140 of the Administration Building or by calling 252-527-6223, ext. 343, ext. 361, ext. 319, or ext. 331.  Completed electronic applications are accepted by counselors in September, October, November, December and January of each year.  No applications will be accepted after 5:00 p.m. on February 1.
