POLYSOMNOGRAPHY (PSG) ADMISSION PREREQUISITES
LCC Polysomnography - A45670
The Polysomnography curriculum prepares individuals, working in conjunction with a physician, to perform and interpret sleep studies and to provide comprehensive clinical evaluations that are required for the diagnosis of sleep related disorders.
 
Students should acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to perform sleep studies, including recording and interpreting events observed during sleep. Treatment of sleep related disorders and patient education focused on healthy sleep habits will also be discussed.
 
Graduates of accredited programs may be eligible to apply to take the examination offered by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists. Employment opportunities may be found in hospitals and freestanding sleep centers.
 
Applications are accepted September 2 - January 30 from qualified applicants.

Polysomnography (PSG) Point Count Worksheet
 
BEFORE applying to the Polysomnography (PSG) program, an applicant must satisfy the math prerequisites. Students must also complete any needed developmental Reading or English courses before applying to the PSG program.
1) MATH
An applicant must have completed one of the following before receiving the PSG application packet:
Continuing Education Qualifying placement scores within the last 5 years or
Continuing Education MAT 070 with a grade of “C” or higher within last 5 years or
Continuing Education DMA 010-050 with a grade of “P” within the last 5 years or
Continuing Education MAT 115, MAT 121, 122, MAT 141,MAT 143, MAT 151, MAT 152, MAT 161, MAT 171 or MAT 263 course or an approved college algebra math with a grade of “C” or higher
 
2) PSB REQUIREMENTS
