Lenoir Community College Associate Degree Nursing - A45120

The Associate Degree Nursing curriculum provides knowledge, skills, and strategies to integrate
safety and quality into nursing care, to practice in a dynamic environment, and to meet individual needs which impact health, quality of life, and achievement of potential.

Course work includes and builds upon the domains of healthcare, nursing practice, and the holistic individual. Content emphasizes the nurse as a member of the interdisciplinary team providing safe, individualized care while employing evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and informatics.

Graduates of this program are eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN). Employment opportunities are vast within the global health care system and may include positions within acute, chronic, extended industrial, and community health care facilities.

The Application season dates vary from year to year. For the 2012 cohort, the application season will begin on September 6, 2011, and the deadline is February 1, 2012 at 5:00 pm. Please remember, each interested applicant must attend a Health Science session either online or face to face to apply. The eligibility requirements for each program must be met by the date of attendance. Those requirements are as follows: ADN/LPN~at least MAT 080 and CHM 094 within the last 5 years with a grade of "C" or better; RAD~at least MAT 070 within the last 5 years with a "C" or better; POLY~at least MAT 070 within the last 5 years with a grade of "C" or better; Surg. Tech~at least MAT 070 within the last 5 years with a grade of "C" or better; Dental Assisting~at least MAT 060 within the last 3 years with a grade of "C" or better and Dental Hygiene~at least MAT 070 within the last 3 years with a grade of "C" or better.
