RIDERCOACH OF THE YEAR AWARDED

The Lenoir Community College Motorcycle Safety Program met recently at its annual meeting and presented Ginger Grimes with the 2013 RiderCoach of the Year Award. This award is presented annually to the LCC RiderCoach that displays outstanding teaching contributions and commitment to motorcycle safety based on student, peer, and staff evaluations.

Grimes, a resident of Greenville, has been teaching motorcycle safety at LCC since 2006. She is one of only 11 instructors in North Carolina that is also certified to teach the 3-Wheel Basic Rider Course.
“The thing I love most about being a RiderCoach is seeing the transformation a student makes from Friday night to Sunday,” Grimes said.

“Ginger is a pleasure to teach with and has an excellent rapport with her students,” LCC Lead RiderCoach Paul Hager said. “She is currently our sole female RiderCoach at LCC and provides an excellent role model for the approximately 40% of our motorcycle students who are women. She continues to be an outstanding and enthusiastic ambassador for our motorcycle programs.”
