HARD WORK AND DEDICATION PAY OFF FOR AHS GRADUATE
Cynthia Mainor

Through hard work and dedication, Cynthia Marquita Mainor of Kinston recently achieved a dream that she began pursuing a year ago at Lenoir Community College. She recently completed all the requirements to graduate with her Adult High School Diploma.
With the completion of this milestone, Mainor has hopes of enrolling in LCC in the near future to continue her education.

“The smile on her face when she came in to pick up her signed diploma was priceless,” LCC Adult High School Coordinator Dustin Walston said.  “Seeing the joy and excitement on a student’s face when they have achieved a seemingly impossible goal is the most incredible reward for any instructor.  To know that this student has a chance for a bright and successful future continues to motivate me to help other students.”

Walston said the Adult High School program has experienced a recent boom in attendance.  “As this program continues to grow, more graduates will be able to one day have the same satisfaction and joy that Mainor has recently experienced,” he said.

“Cynthia is my first graduate since I have been at LCC. She has what it takes to be successful. I would encourage all upcoming and future graduates to continue to work hard because hard work and dedication pays off. Just ask Cynthia, I’m sure she would agree.”
