The Lonnie H. and Betty B. Blizzard Scholarship was awarded to Jordan A. Gonzales of Kinston, a graduate of South Lenoir High School. He is currently enrolled in the College Transfer program and plans to attend East Carolina University to obtain a B.S. in Physical Therapy. Gonzales is the son of Natalie Hayes Race.
The Virginia Lee Osborne Bonar Scholarship was awarded to Debora A. Albritton of Grifton, a graduate of Odessa High School, Odessa, WA. She is currently enrolled in the nursing program and plans to further her education at a four-year university. Albritton is the wife of Tom Albritton.
The Kinston Jaycees Scholarship was awarded to Wesley R. Brantley of Kinston, a graduate of North Lenoir High School. He is currently enrolled in the Physical Education program. He has received athletic letters in football, soccer, and baseball as well as academic letters. His future plans are to transfer to East Carolina University and become a teacher/coach. Brantley is the son of Wayne and Ellen Brantley.
The Bradley Blair (Brad) Burmahl Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Eric M. Barnes of Goldsboro, a graduate of Eastern Wayne High School. He is currently enrolled in the Aviation Management and Career Pilot Technology program. He has been named to the Dean's List and was an Eastern Wayne High School Honor Graduate. His future plans are to attend Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Technical Management. Barnes is the son of Gary and Dixie Barnes.
The West Pharmaceutical Services Scholarship was awarded to Katherine E. Hill of Kinston, a graduate of Williamsport Area High School, Williamsport, PA. She is currently enrolled in the Criminal Justice program. She has received several awards and certificates including: the Health Care Technology Pennsylvania Skills Certificate, N.O.C.T.I. Certificate of Completion, Completion of Health Care Technology, and Career and Technical Education Student of the Month. Her future plans are to further her education at a four-year university. Hill is the daughter of Donnie and Tina Hill.
The C. Felix Harvey, Sr. Scholarship was awarded to Lisa N. Jones of Kinston, a graduate of North Lenoir High School. She is currently enrolled in the nursing program and has been named to the Dean's List at LCC. Her future plans are to obtain her BSN at a four-year university. Jones is the daughter of Peggy Jones. |

The Dalton B. Tripp Scholarship was awarded to Wanda E. Staten of Dover, a graduate of New Bern Senior High School. She is currently enrolled in the Human Services Technology program. She has been named to the President’s List and has received the All-American Scholar Award. Her future plans are to obtain her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology and minor in social work.
The Frank and Sandra Brooks Scholarship was awarded to Teri H. Johnson of Kinston, a graduate of New Bern High School. She is currently enrolled in the Medical Office Administration program. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, has received the All-American Scholar Award, and has been named to the Dean’s List. Her future plans are to further her education and open her own business. Johnson is the wife of Alfred E. Johnson.
The Margaret Blount Harvey Early Childhood Education Scholarship was awarded to Lillian D. Gray of Goldsboro, a graduate of North Lenoir High School. She is currently enrolled in the Early Childhood Education program. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa and her future plans are to become a recreational therapist and open up an after school mentoring/tutoring program. Gray is the daughter of Willie and Ethel Gray.
The Davis Wholesale Tire Scholarship was awarded to Sherry S. Gardner of La Grange, a graduate of North Lenoir High School. She is currently enrolled in the Office Administration program. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, has received the Who’ Who Among College Students Award, High Honors Award, and has been named to the President’s and Dean’s List. Her future plans are to attend East Carolina University to receive a B.S. in Health Care Management. Gardner is the daughter of Preston and Dortha Sutton.
The Billy C. White Memorial/Exchange Club Scholarship was awarded to Nick D. Kornegay, III of Kinston, a graduate of Kinston High School. He is currently enrolled in the Construction Management program. He is an Eagle Scout and his future plans are to attend East Carolina University to receive a B.S. in Construction Management. Kornegay is the son of Deens and Leslie Kornegay.
The Mildred Buchan Quinn Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Lynley S. King of Kinston, a graduate of North Lenoir High School. She is currently enrolled in the Elementary Education program. Her future plans are to become a kindergarten teacher. King is the daughter of Susan Casey and Lynn King.
The ECI Service Club Scholarship was awarded to Barry L. Henry of Kinston, a graduate of Wallace-Rose Hill High School. He is currently enrolled in the Culinary Technology program. He has received the John P. Sutton Scholarship and has been named to the Dean’s List. His future plans are to become involved with a major restaurant chain and further his culinary techniques.
The W. Foster and Mary L. Gurley Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Kalen A. Bryan of Kinston, a graduate of Apex High School. He is currently enrolled in the College Transfer program. He is a member of the National Honor Society and has received Letters in both football and quiz bowl. His future plans are to attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to pursue a degree in Political Science and to enroll in the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps. Bryan is the son of Eddie Bryan and Vicki Cauley. |

The William I. Herring, Sr. Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Angela F. Harris of Grifton, a graduate of Cross High School. She is currently enrolled in the Horticulture program. She was the 2009-2010 recipient of the Eloise C. and Harvey E. Beech Scholarship. Her future plans are obtain her Master’s Degree in Social Work and help clients through emotional and environmental stressors through therapy within horticulture. Harris is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elias Dingle.
The Joseph Keith Williams Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Anthony W. Gervasi of Kinston, a graduate of North Lenoir High School. He is currently enrolled in the Computer Science/2+2 Engineering program. His future plans are to transfer to North Carolina State University to further his education. Gervasi is the son of Dave and Linda Gervasi.
The Green County Merit Scholarship was awarded to Kristen J. Grady of Hookerton, a graduate of Green Central High School. She is currently enrolled in the Nursing program. Her future plans are to become a Registered Nurse. Grady is the wife of George W. Grady, Jr. and mother of Caitlyn and Reid Grady. |

The Sol and Pearl Schechter Scholarship was awarded to Tracey S. Kilpatrick of La Grange, a graduate of Bethel Christian Academy. She is currently enrolled in the ADN program. She is an All-American Scholar and her future plans are to become an RN and work at Lenoir Memorial Hospital. Kilpatrick is the wife of Nicholas Kilpatrick.
The Jams (Jamie) H. Tripp Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Donald E. Kornegay of Beulaville, a graduate of West Duplin Christian Academy. He is currently enrolled in the Automotive Technology program. His future plans are to become an ASE Certified Technician. Kornegay is the son of Jessie and Gertrude Jones and the husband of Rhonda L. Kornegay.
The Brody Brothers’ Foundation Scholarship was awarded to Diane L. Riley of Kinston, a graduate of Southern Wayne High School. She is currently enrolled in the ADN program. Her future plans are to transfer to East Carolina University to obtain her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Nursing. Riley is the wife of Vince Riley.
The E. Merle Edwards Scholarship was awarded to Andrew R. Mozingo of Kinston, a graduate of North Lenoir High School. He is currently enrolled in the Radiology program. He is a member of the National Honor Society. Mozingo is the son of Carlton Scott Daughety and Deidra White Daughety.
The C. Felix Harvey, Sr. Scholarship was awarded to Jenna M. Moss of Kinston, a graduate of Two Rivers High School. She is currently enrolled in the Business Administration program and her future plans are to transfer to a four-year university to further her education. Moss is the daughter of Lee and Debra Neil and the wife of Christopher N. Moss. |

The Southwest Christian Church, Jerry Z. and Effie C. Sutton Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Courtney M. Harrell of Kinston, a graduate of Bethel Christian Academy. She is currently enrolled in the Associate in Science program. She was Valedictorian of her graduating class, has served as President of Honor Society, Vice President of Student Leadership, has been named to the President’s and Dean’s Lists, and has received the MVP/Leadership Award in basketball. Her future plans are to attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and major in exercise and sport science and eventually apply to pharmacy school. Harrell is the daughter of Brian C. and Christy V. Harrell.
The William H. and Clarice P. Davenport Scholarship was awarded to Lindsey M. Richardson of Kinston. She is currently enrolled in the Associate in Arts program. She has been named to President's and Dean's Lists and her future plans are to transfer to East Carolina University and major in Human Services. Richardson is the daughter of Michele and Leonard Richardson.
The W. Foster and Mary L. Gurley Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Lauran R. Herring of La Grange, a graduate of North Lenoir High School. She is currently enrolled in the College Transfer program. She has been named to the Dean’s List and has served as an Ambassador for Lenoir Community College. Her future plans are to transfer to North Carolina State University to double major in Elementary Education and in Spanish. Herring is the daughter of David and Pam Herring.

The Henry A. and Lucile Reed Edwards Scholarship was awarded to John A. Holleman of Deep Run, a graduate of Penn Foster High School. He is currently enrolled in the Engineering program. His future plans are to transfer to East Carolina University to obtain a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Engineering. Holleman is the son of Victor S. Holleman Jr. and Marcina L. Holleman.
The Perry Family Scholarship was awarded to Joshua C. Kennedy of Pink Hill, a graduate of South Lenoir High School. He is currently enrolled in the Emergency Medical Science program. He is the recipient of the Adam Ryan Howard Memorial Scholarship and the Ashton Rhodes Memorial Scholarship, and he is a Pink Hill Fire Department Jr. Fireman. Kennedy is the son of Timmy and Chilly Kennedy.
The John Hood Brewer Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Timothy D. Stallings of Kinston, a graduate of South Lenoir High School. He is currently enrolled in the Global Logistics program. His future plans are to attend East Carolina University to further his education. Stallings is the son of Tony and Gina Stallings and husband of Ashley W. Stallings.
The Dr. Stephen N. Hawkins Scholarship was awarded to Christine Howells of Pink Hill, a graduate of Southern Wayne Sr. High School. She is currently enrolled in the Health Care Management program. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, has been named to the President’s List, and served as Graduation Marshall for the LCC class of 2010. Her future plans are to transfer to Mt. Olive College to further her education.
The Anne E. and William B. Wallace, Jr. Scholarship was awarded to Elizabeth R. Clingersmith of New Bern, a graduate of Dewitt High School. She is currently enrolled in the Medial Assisting program. The Isaac Frances, Marietta, and Rachel Whitfield Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Katlyn E. Hardison of Kinston, a graduate of South Lenoir High School. She is currently enrolled in the College Transfer program. She is a member of the National Honor Society, SCA President, Drafting Club Vice President, and has lettered in volleyball. Her future plans are to transfer to North Carolina State University to obtain a B.S. in Business/Sports Management. Hardison is the daughter of Kent and Caroline Hardison.
The C. Felix Harvey, Sr. Scholarship was awarded to Jameson C. Smith of Dover, a graduate of North Lenoir High School. She is currently enrolled in the U.S. History/Secondary Education program. Her future plans are transfer to East Carolina University to further her education. Smith is the daughter of Johnnie A. Smith, III and Jeanne Norman Smith.
The Henry A. and Lucile Reed Edwards Scholarship was awarded to Troy E. Eason of La Grange, a graduate of South Lenoir High School. He is currently enrolled in the Associate in Science program. He is a member of the National Honor society and recipient of several awards including: the NCAA Pat Gainey Award, the South Lenoir High School Munn Scholarship, the Elk’s Most Valuable Student District Scholarship, the Wendy’s High School Heisman School Winner, the East Carolina Boys Scouts Academic Excellence Award, and is an All-Conference/All-Area baseball player. Eason is the son of Troy and Amy Eason.
The Southwest Christian Church Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Derek K. Hamm of Snow Hill, a graduate of Mount Calvary Christian Academy. He is currently enrolled in the History/Business Management program. He is a member of the National Christian Honor Society, has been named to the President’s List, he is an All-American Scholar, and has served as a Graduation Marshal for LCC class of 2010. His future plans are to transfer to Barton College to further his education. Hamm is the son of Billy M. and Denise B. Hamm, Jr.

He is a member of the National Honor Society, has received the Coaches Award for Track and Field, the Most Improved Award for Cross Country, and has received the Freshman Music Award. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, recipient of the 2009-2010 Academic Excellence Award, has been named to the President’s List, and has served as Graduation Marshall for the LCC class of 2009. Her future plans are to transfer to East Carolina University to further her education. Garner is the daughter of Ricky and Susie Garner.
The Robert James (Jimmy) Sutton, Jr. Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Mandy A. Garner of Kinston, a graduate of South Lenoir High School. She is currently enrolled in the Psychology program. She has received a certificate of completion of Nurse Aide I Training, a certificate of participation in the Southeast Regional Leadership Conference, and a certificate of appreciation for an essay written for Nurse Week 2009. Her future plans are to transfer to a four-year university to further her education and become a counselor. Garner is the daughter of Angelia and Richard Garner.

The State Employee’s Credit Union Scholarship was awarded to Caitlyn D. Ocampo of Kinston, a graduate of South Lenoir High School. She is currently enrolled in the Dentistry/Nursing program. She is a member of the National Honor Society, she is a North Carolina Academic Scholar, and has received an Art Ward and the South Lenoir High School Scholarship. Her future plans are to transfer to a four-year university to further her education. Ocampo is the daughter of Deanne W. Ocampo.
The Jean P. and Peggy Booth Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Stephanie L. Gillette of Kinston, a graduate of South Lenoir High School. She is currently enrolled in the Biology program. She served as Marshal, Class President, Junior Rotarian, and was a Governor’s School nominee. Her future plans are to attend East Carolina University to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. Gillette is the daughter of Terry and Patsy Gillette.
The C. Felix Harvey, Sr. Scholarship was awarded to Reva M. Sugg of Kinston, a graduate of North Lenoir High School. She is currently enrolled in the Chemistry and Chemistry Education programs. She has been named to the President’s and Dean’s Lists and has received the 2009 Academic Excellence Award. Her future plans are to transfer to East Carolina University to obtain her Master’s Degree in Chemistry and teach at the college level. Sugg is the daughter of Lisa Sugg.
The Ned M. and Elsie Croom Stroud Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Julie N. Robbins of Albertson, a graduate of East Duplin High School. She is currently enrolled in the Radiology program. She is a member of the National Technical Honor Society and Beta club, and is a National Academic Scholar. Her future plans are to receive her Radiologist Technician Certificate.
The Emily Brown Tripp Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Matthew H. Dew of Kinston, a graduate of Ralph L. Fike High School. He is currently enrolled in the Nursing program. His future plans are to receive the RN Designation after graduation. Dew is the husband of Robin M. Dew.
The Gail G. Grant Scholarship was awarded to Vincent L. Perry of Kinston, a graduate of Kinston High School. He is currently enrolled in the Automotive Systems Technology program. His future plans are to become an ASE Certified Technician. Perry is the son of Earl and Vicky Perry.
The State Employee’s Credit Union Scholarship was awarded to T. Logan Deaver of Kinston, a graduate of South Lenoir High School. He is currently enrolled in the Nursing Transfer program. He has served as Vice President of the National Honor Society and his future plans are to transfer to East Carolina University to further his education. Her future plans are to transfer to become a surgical technician. Demas is the daughter of Peter Harry Demas, Jr. and Susan Joann Corley Demas.
The Jones County EMC Scholarship was awarded to Summer F. Goerler of Trenton, a graduate of Jones Senior High School. She is currently enrolled in the Massage Therapy program. She is a member of the National Honor Society and her future plans are to attend a Chiropractic school. Goerler is the daughter of Dale and Samantha Georler.
The W. Foster and Mary L. Gurley Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Zachary A. Beard of La Grange, a graduate of North Lenoir High School. He is currently enrolled in the Industrial Design program. He is a member of the National Honor Society, is a North Carolina Scholar, and has received several awards including: Eagle Scout Award, Senior Male Athlete of the Year, Marine Corps League Good Citizenship Award, and the WNCT Channel 9 Scholar Athlete of the Week. His future plans are to transfer to North Carolina State University to further his education. Beard is the son of Mack and Loretta Beard.
The Russell Curtis Hill Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Linda A. Mathiasen of New Bern, a graduate of Roy C. Ketcham Sr. High School. She is currently enrolled in the Graphic Arts and Imaging Technology program. She has been named to the Dean’s List and her future plans are to obtain a job in the graphic arts and technology industry.
The Jones County EMC Scholarship was awarded to David A. Atkinson of Pollocksville, a graduate of Jones Senior High School. He is currently enrolled in the Graphic Arts program. He has been named to the President’s and Dean’s Lists, is a member of the National Honor Society, and was the recipient of the PICA Award. His future plans are to transfer to a four-year university and obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Illustration and minor in Graphic Design. Atkinson is the son of Richard and Cynthia Atkinson. |

The John (Jake) P. and Eugenia R. Strother Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Mikel K. Horne of Pink Hill, a graduate of South Lenoir High School. She is currently enrolled in the Psychology program. She has served as Student Council President and Vice-President of Leadership for Phi Theta Kappa. Her future plans are to transfer to a four-year university to become a counselor. Horne is the daughter of Mike and Tammy Horne.
The Greene County Merit Scholarship was awarded to Patrick D. Howell of Kinston, a graduate of Greene Central High School. He is currently enrolled in the Computer Science program. He has received the Highest Physics Average Award and is a member of the Beta Club. Howell is the son of Gail Rose.
The Kinston Rotary Club Scholarship was awarded to Corey R. White of Pink Hill, a graduate of South Lenoir High School. He is currently enrolled in the Machining Technology program. He is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, has served as President of the Machining Club, and has been named to the President’s List. His future plans are to further his education at a four-year university.
The Victor C. Spence Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Michael H. Futrell of Clayton, a graduate of Clayton High School. He is currently enrolled in the Aviation program. He is a member of the National Technical Honor Society and has served as Chapter President of Clayton High School DECA Club and Vice-President of Project Ignition. His future plans are to attend Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and become a commercial airline pilot. Futrell is the son of Anke Futrell.
The Fodie H. Hodges Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Benjamin J. Sloan of Wallace, a graduate of James Kenan High School.
