BROADWAY AND BEYOND
 
Sean Seymour

Sean Seymour will perform in Lenoir Community College’s 12th annual Broadway and Beyond extravaganza.

A senior at Arendell Parrott Academy, Seymour will be performing a song and dance solo, “Puttin’ on the Ritz.”  He will also perform a song and dance duet with Nora Parker to  “Who’s Got the Pain?” from Damn Yankees and he will  be featured with the dance company from L’Academie De Danse in “One!” from “A Chorus Line.”

He has been studying acting for five years with Janice V. Schreiber, former East Carolina University Acting faculty, and has studied and performed at the Interlochen Arts Camp. He was a semifinalist in the 2009 National Shakespeare Competition and has competed at the National level at Lincoln Center in April 2009. 

 
He has studied voice for four years with Rhonda Riley of ECU, Rick Church and Lynne Church of Interlochen and has studied a year of piano. He is also a member of the school and church chorus. He has studied Advanced Ballet, Jazz, and Tap with Nora Lee Parker of L’Academie De Danse and is currently employed there teaching intermediate tap. Seymour has attended various workshops including a week-long modern intensive workshop with Christal Brown, found of Inspirit Dance Co. of Bronx, NY.  At the Dance Educators of America Regional Competition (2009) in Durham, he received Platinum (highest) ratings in tap and jazz and in 2010 he received a scholarship to the DEA National Ballet Seminar.

He has performed in numerous productions including “Anything Goes,” “Almost, Maine,” “Into the Woods,” “Ruthless!,” and “Beauty and the Beast.”
