Lenoir Community College joined the other 57 community colleges for the "Great Within the 58" celebration honoring one student from each of the 58 community colleges for academic excellence. LCC Business Administration Program Head Stewart Campbell was also honored for his artwork. He was one of two in the community college system who will have his ceramic entry "Oriental Teapot" on display at the system office over the next year. Pictured left to right are LCC Dean of Student Services Myra Poole, Campbell, LCC Dean of Arts and Sciences Dr. John Paul Black, LCC Executive Vice President Dr. Shirley Dove, LCC student and Academic Award Winner Nikki Garner, and Garner's mother, Susie Garner. Garner who has maintained a 4.0 grade point average throughout her educational career at LCC plans to enter the Associate Degree Nursing Program in the fall. She is the daughter of Susie and Ricky Garner of Kinston. Campbell and Garner, along with Dr. Dove, attended a reception at the Governor's Mansion honoring the "Great Within the 58."
